Biguá Phalacrocorax brasilianus ( Phalacrocorax olivaceus)

Hace frío, los días son cortos y húmedos con neblina o lluvia e inevitablemente recuerdo el verano.

Tengo en mi memoria la imagen de un biguá, nadando y zambulléndose, una y otra vez, en la orilla del estuario del Río de la Plata; sin molestarse por mi presencia.

Este pájaro habita en aguas dulces de ríos, arroyos y lagunas de "las pampas". También se lo llama pato cuervo por su hábito acuático y color negro. No hay diferencias entre el macho y la hembra, sólo el ejemplar joven es pardo. En época de cría les crecen a los lados de los ojos plumas blancas.

Su largo cuello de forma de S, le permite cazar en el fondo del agua, pequeños moluscos, peces y crustáceos. A veces se encuentra solo, otras vive en grupos de más de 50 aves. Le gusta posarse en árboles y ramas secas, o en las rocas y así pasar las horas.

Tiene un primo hermano en Asia (Phalacrocorax carbo) que hace cientos de años fue domesticado y usado por el hombre para pescar.carbo

Increible para mi pensamiento que el biguá tan pampeano fuera también habitual en lugares tan lejanos.

It is cold, the days are short and wet with fog or rain. Inevitably I  remember the summer.

I have in my mind the image of a biguá, swimming and diving, again and again, on the shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata; without bothering my presence.

This bird inhabits freshwater rivers, streams and lakes of the "pampas". It is also called duck crow for its aquatic habit and black color. There are not differences between the male and the female, only young specimen is brown. In breeding season  white feathers  grow near their  eyes.

Its long S-shaped neck, allowed to hunt in the bottom of the water, small mollusks, fish and crustaceans. Sometimes it lives alone, and sometimes  in groups of more than 50 birds. It likes to perch on trees and dead branches, or rocks and so go by.

It has a cousin in Asia  (Phalacrocorax carbo) that hundreds of years ago was domesticated and used by man to fish.

I was amazed that the biguá of the pampas, is also common in places as far.

寒くなって来た六月、日は短くなる、湿度は高く霧がかかり雨が降ったり、.... 何か夏が恋しくなる

ビグアはラプラタ川の河口の岸で私なんかに気を掛けず泳ぎまわり又水に何度も潜り....などのイメージがある

この鳥は、ラスパンパスの淡水の小川や川、湖に生息して、水域での生活や黒い体色からアヒルカラス(PATO CUERVO) とも呼ばれる、外観の雄と雌の違いはなく、ただ若鳥は灰色がかっていて、子育ての時期は目の周辺に白い羽が生える

S字型の長い首は、水中の小さな軟体動物や魚、甲殻類の捕食に適している

希に単独で生息することもあるが,一般には50羽以上の群れをなし、よく木に登り枯れた枝や岩に留まって時を過ごす

アジアでは、この鳥の従兄弟が千年以上も前から漁用として飼育されている

アルゼンチン、ラスパンパスの景色の一部であるこの鳥が、そんな遠い所に生息しているのが、私には何故か信じ難い
